International Women’s Day

Happy International Woman’s day to everyone!

It took me damn near half of February to get my black history post ready. However, I am super excited to engage in conversations about womanhood. I look forward to leaning more into my identity as a woman in future posts.

March is such a befitting time for woman’s history month:

  • It’s a time for rejuvenation.
  • We are settling into the new year.
  • The weather is getting warm.
  • Life is just bursting with color!

Can you tell how excited I am for this new season ? XD

In honor of women’s history month I thought I would try something fun =)

Something different in the sense of not simply posting historical figures of amazing women from our past. My idea of fun is taking a look at some of the current state of affairs of our world and see how we can make the world more ideal for our girls coming up as well as for society in general.

I have come up with a hot take that would make society in America more tolerable for women and better overall. If you do disagree with my take please do share your reasons as to why because I can’t fathom why anyone would.

So in this new and improved world:

  1. Any type of child molestation or rape results in an automatic death sentence (or life imprisonment for those who are super opposed to death).

I chose sexual assault because for me it is a topic that everyone can agree is never acceptable (gross misconduct) unlike murder, assault, or theft (general misconduct). It is also an offense that is easily preventable IMO. Unfortunately, we live in a world where people love to like to take advantage of the vulnerable and abuse their power. This often times results in increased harm towards women and children.

I mean think about it… how could a death sentence not be a good idea? 1/3 girls and 1/6 boys are sexually victimized before the age of 18. This not only benefits women but men as well. Society benefits overall. Childhood trauma always persists into adulthood. Why not put methods in place that will truly deter this behavior that is NEVER acceptable?

How can any person reach the dark crevices of their brain to see a child and think sexual thoughts, and then ACT on those thoughts?! We should not pass on the mindset that abuse of the vulnerable is even mildly acceptable.

There would definitely be more onus on men than women to be better considering men are perpetrators of 75-90% of sexual abuse in America.

Is it really that hard to not force yourself on a woman? A child?

I’m not a man so I don’t know…

Thankfully I have not been a victim of sexual abuse in childhood and so I can personally vouch for the male humans ability to restrain themselves from such animalistic tendencies.

However, let me know your thoughts! What do you think about the new sentence that would befall all child molesters and rapists in my new world? Would you want to live here?

Feel free to share your thoughts =)
