Setting the Record Straight
Whew chile! I know you all have heard of the mess that has been going on with Megan Thee Stallion and her new hit single “HISS“.
Unfortunately, I don’t have too much to say about this matter. IMO, there’s a clear winner in this and her name is in the title of this post 😄 However, I will go through some of the main points and pain points of this entire situation.
Deep Dive
Megan Thee Stallion dropped her single HISS on Friday and took shots at many people. She mentioned no names but it is rumored that the likes of Drake, Pardi, Nicki Minaj, Torey Lanez and more are the references for her tracks. I am still trying to figure out the girl dancing to make R. Kelly go viral?🤔
I must admit, the first time I heard the track I didn’t think too much of it. I couldn’t really keep up with the words and I was sidetracked by other things. However, the YouTube streets were getting busy with lots of reviews about Megan’s new track and how she dissed Nicki Minaj.
First I was like what? I didn’t hear anything about Nicki in that song. So I pulled up the track and made sure to focus. On the second listen, in addition to a quick google search about Megan’s Law, I was able to give Megan Thee Stallion the props that she deserved for the entire record.
Not only was the song educational, it was revolutionary in a sense. It made me have more respect for her.
Nicki, Nicki, Nicki 🤦🏾♀️
Now, very soon after Megan thee Stallion ‘s song dropped, someone was ranting and raving all weekend long- nonstop!
Nicki Minaj came across very hot and bothered even though no names were mentioned in HISS. After countless drags over the weekend, she dropped her song Bigfoot on Monday.
Now, one thing about the Barbs is that they will support their fave. It comes off a bit occultic with the low vibrational energy, but I love that for them.
The Bigfoot song was too long for my liking. I think the biggest mis-step is that Nicki tweeted her whole song all weekend while she was ranting and so there was nothing intriguing about the song she released since we heard it all.
As much of a veteran that Nicki is, she made a very rookie move by showing all her cards before she played them🐩
Takeaways
I think there are a couple of general ideas that we can take away from this turn of event:
- Law of Attraction: Whatever you give your energy to, will expand. Had Nicki not made a big deal of the Megan’s Law line- Megan’s record may not have done as well. Nicki literally gave Megan thee Stallion her audience of millions by going on and on and on and on about her the whole weekend.
- Keep big plans to yourself or limited to a few trusted confidants. I also truly believe that if Nicki didn’t give the entire world an ear shot of what she was thinking, her track would have had more impact.
In Conclusion
Unfortunately, this mess was taken too far when people began speaking of a sinister idea to dig up Megan Thee Stallion ‘s dead mother’s grave☠️. That’s where I stopped paying any real attention to the details of the mess.
I did hear of Moniece’s commentary about potential legal action against the use of the Megan’s Law phrase. First off- go sit somewhere and mind the business that minds you Moniece. You have too much trauma to unpack from your childhood and previous relationships to be exerting so much of your energy online… did you see the way she was screaming?
In conclusion, I love the artistic rivalry and battles that rap is so prone to. There is something about creatively putting pen to paper to express yourself rather than going the low vibrational route physically. Don’t get me wrong, there can be a time and place for that; however, I prefer the former over the latter.
