The Adventures of Online Dating (How to- WITH SAMPLE PROFILES)

Happy New Year!! It’s been too long since I was here 😉

Since we are leaving procrastination in 2023, I am here to give some tips to get you closer to a serious relationships online dating in 2024.

I recently signed up for dating via an app (because I thought I wanted to get back into the dating world 😅). Unfortunately (or fortunately) I saw this as a better opportunity to share my experience on profiles that turn me off as a woman looking for something deep. I have included screenshots of profiles so that you have some examples to guide you.

Let’s get right into it!

Disclaimer: These tips are simply measures to be more selective so that you obtain more tailored options for what you desire. We WANT to be as specific as possible so that we don’t attract what we don’t want.

Red Flags 🚩 – things to look out for 👀

Lack of specificity:

This falls in line with the final tip as well. If someone provides a blurb, however the blurb is nonsensical or lacks depth, then swipe left! What endearing qualities do you have about yourself? This type of profile is most likely lazy. They are suffering from lack of confidence or they are manipulative. Who wants any one of those options? By swiping right on such a profile, you are setting the standard that you are okay with the nothingness and the nonsense they provide.

Oddball names:

If a person has a name such as “Lobster” or “Freaky Freddy” or “Bird In Hand” please swipe left. What type of person are they to start the relationship off with games? How can you expect to engage in a meaningful relationship by connecting to a caricature? By swiping right, you are conceding that you don’t mind playing games. Of course there are exceptions to the rule, however just to be safe, save your precious time and move on to someone who is not giving you extra work when they can simply be a ‘mature’ adult and be real.

No self descriptive blurb:

The effort put into a profile, in my opinion, represents the quality/depth of the person who made it. If you are a considerate, intelligent person looking for a serious relationship, then you will put effort to describe who you are and what you are looking for. It also represents someone who is a good communicator. These guys with no blurbs could very well be great guys… but the fact that they wrote nothing at all means they aren’t that vested in connecting with anyone in particular.

So that’s all folks! A few tips for online dating. I have so many more red flags to share but this is enough for now. I will also share some green flags that point to individuals who may be more serious than these profiles.

Let me know your thoughts! Am I completely off with my takes? Share your thoughtz on the matter 🙂
